Therapeutic Family Assessment Service

Supporting Families to Make Change

Welcome to Compass Therapeutic Family Assessment Service

Compass Therapeutic Family Assessment Services are dedicated to supporting families through comprehensive, therapeutic, and holistic services designed to empower and promote positive change, offering parents every opportunity to succeed.

Our teams are led by experienced Social Workers. We specialise in working with families who require thorough, nurturing, and balanced assessments.

With centres currently in East Riding of Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, our experienced, multidisciplinary team take referrals for families from across England and Wales.

Our centres are rated Good in all areas by Ofsted.

Who Can We Assess?

We know that families come in all shapes and sizes, so we offer a flexible approach based on the needs of each unique family.

Our service can meet the needs of families who;

  • Are made up of different components – we will be happy to assess one parent on their own or both together. We are also able to accommodate babies, toddlers, older children and larger sibling groups.
  • Need a safe and welcoming supervised place to enjoy family time with wider family members.
  • Need a time-limited high-level support package to provide intervention in a time of crisis and target families where children are on the edge of care.
  • Require a community-based assessment and support package.
  • Require on-site drug and alcohol testing.

Why Choose Compass?

Experienced Multidisciplinary Team

Our social work led teams include family therapists and other professionals dedicated to providing holistic assessments.

Safe, Supportive Environments

Each of our centres is designed to make families feel at home, fostering a sense of comfort and trust throughout the assessment process.

Therapeutic Engagement

We prioritise therapeutic engagement to help families understand and grow from the assessment experience, not just passively participate in it.

Information for Parents

We understand that moving into a family assessment centre can feel daunting, and our staff are here to support and guide parents to achieve the best outcome for their child and family unit.

We provide clear, accessible information for parents, which can be shared by their social workers or legal teams. This ensures that families understand the assessment process, what to expect, and how we are here to support them every step of the way.
